Ryssa Swanson
Ryssa Swanson earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Western Connecticut State University and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service through the Advanced Standing program. During her undergraduate studies, she interned with the Afghanistan Iraq Veterans War Memorial team, helping organize the inaugural Heroes Gala, and continued her involvement after graduation.
In June 2024, Ryssa joined the Veterans K9Equine Alliance, where she advocates for the healing power of service animals and the human-animal bond. Inspired by witnessing the impact of service dogs in her community, she is passionate about supporting veterans, promoting mental health, and creating opportunities for healing through innovative and compassionate approaches to care.
